The idea for rebranding the show was actually the brainchild of the show's host, Joe Scarborough. Mr. Scarborough said, "I was lying in my bed unable to sleep, just thinking about Donald and staring at my Trump poster, and it hit me — this man is going to be our next President and Supreme Leader, what a great tribute it would be to rename the show after him." 

Asked what she thought of the new name, the show's co-host, Mika Brzezinski responded, "Gargh grug grrgh arg grumph (sic)." Mr. Scarborough quickly cut her off and said, "Mika loves the new name. Like me, she's been saying Trump is going to win all along."
