Attorney General Loretta Lynch stated, "I'm not sure why these allegations are just coming to light now, any suggestion that a diesel powered VW Golf pinging and panging down the road could provide any driving enjoyment should have raised immediate red flags." Attorney General Lynch promised a full and thorough investigation, admitting however that an investigation may be difficult as very few 1990's Volkswagens still exist, most of them having been crushed into blocks and sent to China to be melted down and made into toasters and other small household appliances.

Former VW Jetta 360 owner, Herbert Ruben voiced his anger, "Fahrvergnügen my ass, that thing was a piece of shit right from the start. How I ever fell for that is beyond me, but it sounded so cool in the commercial."  James Dorksun, a former Golf 360 owner voiced his displeasure, "I knew I'd been had from the first time I picked up a date in my Golf. From the look on her face when she laid eyes on that car, I knew immediately I wasn't going to be getting any 'Fahrvergnügen' that night."

Shares of VW continued to fall on news of the "Fahrvergnügen" scandal, dropping another 10% on top of the 25% drop from the emissions investigation.
